The film ‘Achaneyanenikkishtam’, written by Suresh Poduval, won the award for Best Story at the 2002 Kerala Film Critics Awards. Noted for its theme, the film featured Kalabhavan Mani, Biju Menon and Lekshmi Gopalaswamy in lead roles, with Mohanlal in a guest appearance. Its story and screenplay portray the need to carry the soul of one’s mother tongue to the next generation.
The screenplay was published by Lipi Publications in 2017 — his first published screenplay.
Dedicated to the fond memory of the film’s lead actor, Kalabhavan Mani, who met an untimely end.
